Umoth VII was a Class M planet in the Demilitarized Zone between the Cardassian Union and the United Federation of Planets. It was the site of a Federation colony that was ceded to the Union by treaty in 2370, and whose inhabitants were terrorized by the Cardassians in an effort to force them to leave.
