Tyrakhean facial markings had cultural significance, an infant's were often used to ascribe personality attributes or destiny and could inspire the child's name. (Star Trek Beyond; ST comic: Boldly Go)
Members of the species included Jaylah, Keelah, Livnah and Reyfin Omal. (Star Trek Beyond; ST comic: Boldly Go; PIC novel: The Dark Veil; TTN novel: Fortune of War)
Background[]
- Though a prominent character in Star Trek Beyond and its follow up comic Boldly Go, Jaylah's species went unnamed, even in the script. The name "Tyrakhean" was coined by David Mack in the Star Trek: Titan novel Fortune of War.
