Trivas was a star system the Alpha Quadrant, in Cardassian space, approximately three light-years from Bajor. Its primary was an M-class red dwarf. (DS9: "Empok Nor"; Star Trek: Star Charts)
It was the location of the space station Empok Nor. The system and the station were abandoned by the Cardassian Union in 2372. (DS9: "Empok Nor")
From then until the early 25th century, the system became a haven for smugglers, pirates, and clandestine groups like the True Way. (Star Trek Online: "The Long Night")
The USS Enterprise-E found the Vulcan survey vessel Damask Plain adrift in the Trivas system in early 2375, and towed it to Deep Space 9. (ST novel: Tales of the Dominion War: "Mirror Eyes")
The USS Musgrave responded to an emergency in the Trivas system in 2376. (TNG novel: The Brave and the Bold, Book Two: The Final Artifact)
