As an Ensign, in 2282, she was assigned as helmsman aboard the USS Enterprise under Captain Spock. (TOS novel: The Darkness Drops Again)
By the turn of the 24th century, T'Lara held the rank of Captain and joined Starfleet's Judge Advocate General Corps. In 2355, she was stationed at Starbase 32, and served as defense counsel for Captain Jean-Luc Picard during his court-martial over the loss of the USS Stargazer. (TNG novel: The Buried Age)
In 2372, Admiral T'Lara presided over Lt. Commander Worf's extradition hearing at Deep Space 9. (DS9: "Rules of Engagement")
