Starbase 42 was a Federation space station, orbiting the planet Casmus III in the Beta Quadrant. It was in operation from at least the 2260s until at least the 2380s. (TOS comic: "The Return!", "The Sentence"; STA novel: Progenitor; SCE novel: Interphase, Part One; et. al)
- As depicted in the DC comics series, Starbase 42 is of the same design as the Orbital Office Complex from Star Trek: The Motion Picture, though seemingly larger. The starbase presumably had planet-based facilities as well.
