Starbase 134
Starbase 134 was a Federation starbase in operation during the 24th century. It was located in the Beta Rigel system, with the base's main facility, an Ournal II-class space station, near Rigel VI. It was home to extensive shipyards, including facilities run by the Advanced Starship Design Bureau. Construction on the starbase began in the mid-2330s, as part of Starfleet's expansion of facilities to accommodate the larger starships coming into production, and as staging areas for both defense of the core worlds and new waves of exploration. The station was completed in 2346, and the system's existing facilities became annexes of the starbase. Starbase 133, a few sectors away, came online at roughly the same time. (Star Trek: Pendragon)
In early 2375, the starbase was critically damaged during a battle between Starfleet and Dominion forces. Much of the station's traffic was rerouted to other facilities, including Starbase 133 in the Aldebaran system. (TNG novel: The Battle of Betazed)
