Quatel Prime, often simply referred to as Quatel, was an M-class planet in the Jubel sector of the Romulan Star Empire. It was the homeworld of the Quatellian species, a Romulan client race.
Qua'no'los ("the Stone Heart") was the planet's largest and most spectacular mountain range. Its terrain sculpted by glacial flow, with high cliffs and deep canyons. The region, as with most similar areas, was filled with mines and factories, along with domed living facilities protected from the frozen climate. Nearly all planetary travel was handled by shuttles and other aircraft, since the terrain was too rocky, icy and treacherous for standard ground vehicles.
In the 2370s, Quatel's representative in the Romulan Senate was Senator Ferran Solos, a member of the Jol Tan Coalition and staunch supporter of the Tal Shiar. He was a rival of Senator Crassian D'mora of Justarus, and their feud often dragged both their worlds, and the entire sector into political intrigue. (LUG: The Way of D'era: The Romulan Star Empire)
