Pillagra was the third planet of the R-855 system, and the Bajoran colony there. It was the site of first contact between the Federation and the Bajorans in 2270, when the USS Enterprise defended the colony from attack by the then-unknown Ascendants. (TOS novel: Allegiance in Exile)
The colony thrived well into the 24th century, and during the Cardassian Occupation of Bajor, many Bajorans lucky enough to escape found refuge on Pillagra. (DS9 novel: Sacraments of Fire)
