Ni var is a term in the Vulcan language which translates literally as "two form." It was also an art form practiced on Vulcan in which a subject was examined from two different viewpoints, or in terms of its having two different aspects or natures.
According to Spock, it referred to the duality of things: "two who are one, two diversities that are a unity, two halves that come together to make a whole." (TOS short story: "Ni Var")
A 22nd century Suurok-class starship, the Ni'Var, was named after the concept. Centuries later, after the Reunification of the Vulcans and Romulans, the planet Vulcan was renamed to Ni'Var as a sign of unity. (ENT: "Shadows of P'Jem"; DSC: "Unification III")
