Captain Lyrinda Halk, 2367
Lyrinda Halk was a human female who served in Starfleet during the 24th century. By the mid-2360s, she held the rank of Captain, and was commanding officer of the USS Marco Polo.
Born in Valdez, Alaska, she was a childhood friend of William T. Riker, and his classmate at Starfleet Academy. After graduation, she served aboard the USS Trieste and USS Fearless prior to attaining her command.
While on a survey mission in 2367, the Marco Polo was attacked by automated drone ships near Beta Marada, and the crew sustained heavy casualties. Halk and the survivors were rescued by the USS Enterprise, answering Marco Polo's distress call. (TNG comic: Thin Ice)
Though the Marco Polo was salvaged, the damage she sustained hastened the older ship's retirement. Afterwards, Captain Halk was presumably assigned command of another vessel. (Star Trek: Pendragon)
