The Krotarians were a sapient reptillian species, somewhat similar to the Gorn, hailing from the world of Krotar in the Diodor sector. They were a peaceful species. By the mid-2370s, they had several extraplanetary colonies within their home system, and were on the verge of developing warp travel, though their research was plagued with difficulties arising from the subspace anomalies in the region.
