The Kalandra sector, circa 2385
The Kalandra sector was a region of space in the Alpha Quadrant, bordered by the Bajor, Betazed, Dorvan, and Mizar sectors, and the nearby Argolis Cluster. In the 24th century, Federation space extended partway into the area, though as of the 2370s, it was still mostly neutral territory. The Kalandra, Klaestron, Lya, Merak and Trill systems were located in the sector, along with the planet Farius Prime. (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine; Star Trek: Star Charts)
During the Federation-Cardassian War and the Dominion War, the Kalandra sector held great strategic importance. During the latter conflict, the sector was occupied by Dominion forces in 2374, positioning them for a strike on Betazed. (DS9: "In the Pale Moonlight")
The trade route known as the Galador Corridor ran through the sector. (DS9 novel: Sacraments of Fire)
