Justarus was a Class M planet in the Jubel sector, one of the first worlds colonized by the Romulan Star Empire, circa 590 CE. One of the planet's moons, Terek was also home to a small mining colony.
The colonial capital of Bratokka was located the northern hemisphere, on the planet's largest island landmass. The city was constructed in classical Romulan style, but using native materials, mostly coral. It was the location of the University of Justarus.
Near the equator was the Korrin Archipelago, a dense collection of tiny islands and coral reefs that teemed with exotic marine life. The region was a favorite destination for tourists from all over the Empire, and many hospitality centers dotted the coastlines, with small boats and pleasure craft carrying visitors from one island to another.
The largest of the planet's underwater cities was Vola T'nor, a sprawling metropolis of undersea pressure domes beneath the southern ocean. The city maintained vast aquaculture farms and served as a research center for oceanic exploration and biological study.
While most of the mineral resources were mined from the planet's moons, Justarus featured abundant marine life, and the planet's aquaculture industry produced a wide variety foodstuffs, utilizing both protein and plant life. Many of the planet's sea creatures were considered delicacies throughout the Empire.
In the 2370s, the planet's representative in the Romulan Senate was Senator Crassian D'mora, a rival of fellow Senator Ferran Solos from Quatel. Their feud sparked much political intrigue throughout the sector, and was closely monitored (and manipulated) by the Tal Shiar. (LUG: The Way of D'era: The Romulan Star Empire)
