Iadara was a temperate Class M planet in the system of the same name in the Alpha Quadrant. A Federation world, it was home to the Iadara Colony, established prior to the mid-23rd century. Iadaran colonists spoke Federation Standard with a noticeable, "crisp" accent. Due to their world's proximity to the Cardassians, the colonists were tough, resourceful and not easily rattled. (TOS novel: Unspoken Truth)
By 2370, the Iadara Colony was known to be heavily involved in new starship construction for Starfleet. In at least one quantum reality, Iadara was a target of Cardassian surveillance and espionage for that reason. (TNG: "Parallels")
