Hellaro Corva II was the second, formerly seventh, planet of the Hellaro Corva system in the Venturius sector of the Romulan Star Empire. It was once a Class M world, but its atmosphere was stripped away some 200,000 years ago when the system's secondary star collapsed into a black hole -- the Eye of Corva -- which destroyed the inner five planets.
Prior to the cataclysm, the planet was an Iconian outpost, and ruins of their presence remained on the surface. Upon discovery of the former Iconian presence in the system, the Romulans constructed an orbital research station in the early 24th century, officially administered by the Romulan Astrophysical Academy.
The planet was subject to significant gravitational forces put out by the Eye, and the tidal stresses caused frequent quakes which hindered the work of the Romulan archaeological team led by Dr. Fel Hanora. By 2374, only primitive artifacts had been recovered, though from the glyphs and symbols, they were undoubtedly of Iconian origin.
