The Far future is a broad, imprecise term to encompass any distant period of time beyond the "present day" or "modern era." From the standpoint of the United Federation of Planets in 23rd, 24th and 25th centuries, for example, the "far" future could be anywhere from the from the latter half of the third millennium to the end of time itself.
51st century[]
- Sol enters a period of heightened solar flare activity.
61st century[]
- Sol again enters a period of heightened solar flare activity.
123rd century[]
- Radiation levels in the Andromeda Galaxy are expected to reach intolerably high levels within the next ten millennia, according to scientists of the Kelvan Empire. (TOS: "By Any Other Name")
Alternate realities[]
The Doctor's universe[]
- In the 61st century, human scientists predict that solar flares will render Earth uninhabitable for some 5000 years. The Nerva Beacon is brought into Earth orbit to serve as a mass cryostasis facility. Due to a series of complications, the survivors would overshoot the mark and sleep for approximately 10,000 years. (DW: The Ark in Space)
- In the year 16087, the survivors aboard Nerva Beacon are revived. Over the next 100 years, they return to Earth and begin to repopulate the planet. (DW: The Ark in Space; "Wirrn Isle")
