Drovna III was an M-class planet in the Drovna system, located in the Tullus sector of the Beta Quadrant. By the 24th century, it was uninhabited, though ruins of an extinct civilization were discovered by the Romulan explorers who surveyed the planet. It was considered ripe for colonization by the Romulan Star Empire in the 2370s.
The planet's ruins held no advanced technology, only stone buildings, statues and carvings. However, some of the crystals found within the ruins contained information encoded at the molecular level, similar to isolinear chips. When decoded by the Romulans, this information revealed that Drovna III had been terraformed by an unknown race 500,000 years earlier, but gave no indication of their name, nor the reason they abandoned the planet.
