Deneb Kaitos IV, known as Kidta to its natives, and commonly called simply Deneb IV or Diphda IV by offworlders, was a Class M planet in the Deneb Kaitos system in the Alpha Quadrant. It was the homeworld of the sentient Deirr species, members of the United Federation of Planets. Along with Deneb V, it was also one of several worlds that were home to the creatures known as Denebian Slime Devils. The planet was a frequent shore leave destination for Starfleet officers in the mid-23rd century. In the 2250s, Gary Mitchell and James T. Kirk underwent medical and psychological testing to determine their ESPer ratings. (TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before")
