Lta was a star system in the Alpha Quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy. The system contained at least nine planets. Early human explorers who made first contact with the inhabitants of the Class M fourth planet, Dhei, transliterated their name for their star and world, Dhei-Lta as "Delta." The appellation stuck, and the system became known throughout the Federation as the Delta system or Deltan system, identified in catalogues as UFC-114-Delta or Delta-114 Ophiuchi.
