The Charybdis sector was an area of space "on the edge" of the Milky Way Galaxy, above the galactic plane, on the fringes of Federation space. It had a sparse stellar population, though the Chiron system was located there.
- Given the number of Debrune ruins on nearby planets, it is likely that the Charybdis sector was in the Beta Quadrant.
In 2382, the USS Intrepid escorted the Chiron Colonial Convoy to the Charybdis sector, and assisted in the colonization of Chiron IV. The Intrepid remained on loose assignment to the sector at least until 2386. (Star Trek: Intrepid)
