The Bolians were a race of blue-skinned humanoids native to the planet Bolarus IX. They were a cousin species of the Tulians and shared a common ancestor with the extinct Bolastre of the planet Myrmidon. They were members pf the United Federation of Planets. Bolians developed warp drive in the early 22nd century, with the first successful warp tests taking place in the Bolarus system on 18 December, 2127. (DTI novel: The Collectors)

Bolian physiology was highly acidic, with corrosive, cobalt-based blood. They typically possessed a cartilaginous lining around their tongue and esophagus, which meant that most non-Bolian food was extremely bland to their taste, while Bolian cuisine was frequently toxic to other species.
