The Bolarus sector or Bolian sector, also known as the Tango sector during the Earth-Romulan War, was a region of space in the Beta Quadrant, mostly controlled by the United Federation of Planets. On the trailing side, the Bolian sector lay on the border of the Alpha Quadrant, while a portion of the Romulan Neutral Zone ran through the sector's spinward edge. It was the location of the Bolarus system, Federation Starbases 4 and 10, and Earth's Tango Outposts established during the 2160s.
The sector was bordered by Sectors 001 and 002, and the Kaleb and Teneebia sectors to the galactic south; the Devron, Sierra and Tarod sectors to the galactic west; and the Delta sector and Sector Z-6 to the galactic north. A direct course between Earth and Romulus would take a vessel through the Bassen Rift in this sector. (Star Trek: Star Charts; Star Trek Nemesis)
