Beta Rigel III, also known as Chelar, Raij'hl III or simply Rigel III, was a Class M planet in the Beta Rigel system, and home to the Rigellian Chelon (or Chelarian) species. It was a member of the United Federation of Planets. (Star Trek: Star Charts; Decipher: Worlds)
The planet's climate was warm, with small oceans, lush jungles, and bubbling swamplands. A large, dense rainforest covered much of the northern continent. Rigel III had two moons, Uäno and Uvor. (ENT novel: Rise of the Federation: Tower of Babel; Decipher: Worlds; LUG: Sky Pirates of Orion)
By the late 24th century, the Daystrom Institute had an annex on Rigel III. In the 2390s, Dr. Leah Brahms lived there with her husband, Geordi La Forge, and their three children. (TNG: "All Good Things...")
