Ba'M'eel was a 24th century Orion male, who served in Starfleet during the 2370s. In 2371, he held the rank of ensign and was assigned to the USS Defiant, the only Orion serving aboard the vessel at that time. Though he was young, his shipmates and superiors considered him quite talented and capable. (DS9 novel: The Long Night)
