Altanis Idrilon was a star and associated planetary system located in the Alpha Quadrant, on the fringes of the Draconis Outback, near territory controlled by the Klingon Empire.
The system's primary was a Type M5 V red dwarf, which was orbited by four planets: One Class J gas giant, one Class H planet (Idrilon III), and two Class D planetoids. A low-density silicate asteroid belt was situated between the third and fourth planets.
The Klingons constructed a listening post in the system during the early 24th century, before the time of the Betreka Nebula Incident. During that conflict with the Cardassian Union, the Klingon Defense Force used the space station as a forward observation post and military staging area. After end of the "incident," the Klingons abandoned the station as it was no longer strategically or financially viable, and it sat deserted for decades. It was found by the Orion pirate Bardeck Gorales in 2367, who used the station as a hideout, and gave it the ironic name "Gorkon's Retreat". (LUG: Raiders, Renegades & Rogues)
