Aldebaran Prime (Aldebaran III, Alpha Tauri III) was the third of four planets in the Aldebaran system, in the Beta Quadrant of the Milky Way Galaxy. The only Class M planet in the system, it was the site of the Aldebaran Colony, founded by humans from Earth in the mid-22nd century. It became a full member of the United Federation of Planets in 2216. (Star Trek: Pendragon; Kal-Dixas Spaceport; Star Trek Maps; Star Trek: Star Charts; The Worlds of the Federation; FASA: The Federation)
The planet had six moons, which the early colonists named after the historical "six counties" of Northern Ireland: Antrim, Armagh, Derry, Down, Fermanagh and Tyrone. (Star Trek Maps; Kal-Dixas Spaceport)
Aldebaran Colony was one of the largest centers of corporate holdings outside the original boundaries of the Federation, a site of much commerce and industry. The New Aberdeen Shipyards was located there, one of Starfleet's major starship construction facilities. (FASA: The Federation; The Worlds of the Federation)
Most native Aldebaraners were descended from the original Irish and Australian colonists who settled the planet in the mid-22nd century. That Gaelic and Celtic heritage remained a strong influence in Aldebaran culture ever since. Native-born Aldebaraners had an accent that has been described as "a fusion of Irish lilt, and Australian brogue." (Kal-Dixas Spaceport)
Starbase 133 was constructed in orbit of Aldebaran III sometime prior to the 2360s, and many of the existing Starfleet and Federation facilities, including the shipyards, became annexes of the new starbase. (Star Trek: Pendragon)

Notes[]
- For arbitrary reasons, Memory Alpha treats Aldebaron III as a different planet from Aldebaran III, despite it being a clear spelling error. Every other source recognizes them as the same world, so Pendragon does as well.
