The following events occurred in the year 2390 according to the Earth calendar and corresponds to the stardate period 67000 to 67999.
Events[]
- Conflict continues to rise on the borders of the Klingon Empire and Gorn Hegemony. The Nausicaans, while ostensibly working for the Gorn, perform raids against both sides. (STO: The Path to 2409)
- Starfleet Intelligence learns that the Nausicaan raids are launched from upwards of eight hidden bases constructed in asteroid belts or nebulae near the border, and though Starfleet Command does not consider them a threat, the Federation Transport Union demands that Starfleet increase its patrols in the region and offer greater protection along the civilian shipping lanes. (STO: The Path to 2409)
- The Federation cannot provide the requested protection along the cargo lanes while continuing to reinforce the border between the Romulans and the Klingons. The best-case scenario would be a peaceful solution to the Klingon-Gorn conflict, so the Federation again offers to mediate talks between the Empire and the Hegemony; the preliminary talks to hash out a peace conference drag on for weeks, only to abruptly end when Chancellor Martok declares that the Klingons will not participate unless Starfleet withdraws every one of its ships from the Romulan-Klingon border. (STO: The Path to 2409)
- Though both campaigns against the Romulans and the Gorn are popular on Qo'noS, the Klingon Defense Force realizes that its resources are being stretched too thin and it cannot maintain a war on two fronts. The Empire's expansion into Romulan territory is scaled back to holding the worlds they have already seized, while the KDF focuses on new starship construction and recruitment. (STO: The Path to 2409)
- 15 August (stardate 67620.54): The Romulan colony of Talvath formally requests Federation protection. (STO: The Path to 2409)
- While the remnant factions and would-be praetors continue to vie for power within Romulan space, Admiral Taris has been organizing the remaining ships of the Romulan Star Navy into cohesive fleet, approaching each ship's commander personally. It is expected that she will have the Romulan military fully operational within seven months. (STO: The Path to 2409)
- Federation analysts fear that a strong imperial fleet could endanger the civilian leadership of the Romulan colonies, and warn that the remnants of the Empire could soon be under military rule. Howver, Taris, for her part, seems to have no interest in governing the civilian population, focusing in stead on relief efforts and defense of the Empire's borders. (STO: The Path to 2409)
- On Cardassia Prime, Madred and the True Way become more open in their opposition to civilian rule and the democratic changes sweeping through the Cardaassian Union; rallies and protests spring up around Cardassia and many outlying worlds. (STO: The Path to 2409)
- The joint task force of Federation and Cardassian doctors and scientists led by Captain Beverly Crusher of the USS Pasteur announces that it has made progress towards a cure for Yarim Fell Syndrome. The cure relies upon a compound synthesized from a rare flower only found in remote areas of Cardassia Prime, which cannot be replicated. Efforts to cultivate the plant elsewhere begin, but are met with limited success, and as such it will be several years before the drug is fully tested and ready for the public. (STO: The Path to 2409)
- In the Vayt sector, the USS ibn Majid encounters a ship carrying two passengers, Jana and Beautiful Flower. During dinner with them and his first officer, Cristobal Rios, that evening, Captain Alonzo Vandermeer shoots both of his guests with a phaser, then turns it on himself. (PIC: "Broken Pieces")
- The USS Enterprise-E completes a survey of the McAllister C-5 Nebula and reports finding residual signs of multiple quantum singularities that correspond to those used by Species 8472. This marks the first sign of an incursion from fluidic space in the Alpha Quadrant.
Personal[]
Assignments and promotions[]
- After more than three years of working to restore Starfleet's shipbuilding infrastructure, Geordi La Forge is promoted to Captain and assumes command of the USS Challenger.
- Approximately six months after the incident in the Vayt sector aboard the ibn Majid, Commander Cristobal Rios is discharged from Starfleet. (PIC: "Broken Pieces")

Deaths[]
- Captain Alonzo Vandermeer commits suicide aboard the USS ibn Majid, after murdering two "ambassadors," Jana and Beautiful Flower. (PIC: "Broken Pieces")

Possibilities[]
- In at least one timeline, by this year, Geordi La Forge has returned to Starfleet and is Captain of the USS Challenger. (VOY: "Timeless").
- This may have occurred now, or later, in Pendragon continuity. Geordi's captaincy comes in 2397 according to STO, but it may have even occured later if it takes place after the first year of Star Trek: Picard and the lifting of the synth ban.
