- February
- 06 February: A lone Borg Cube emerges from a transwarp conduit near the Azure Nebula. A Starfleet armada dispatches it before it can reach Starbase 234.
- This event represents a point of divergence from the Destiny timeline.
- Summer
- By mid-year, the entire production apparatus at Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards is redirected towards building ships for the Romulan relief effort. This includes refitting and construction of more Wallenberg-class transports, but also the creation of a new fleet of rescue ships. (PIC novel: The Last Best Hope)
- With all Utopia Planitia projects deemed non-essential to the rescue mission shut down or otherwise put on indefinite hold, the entire Theoretical Propulsion Group, including Dr. Leah Brahms, relocate to the Daystrom Institute.

- 7 November: Contact with the Raleigh is lost. The ship's last message to DS4 indicated their first officer and pilot were lost after exploring the other side. (Star Trek Adventures: The Lost Frontier: Episode 1)
- 19 November (stardate 58884.2): Following a refit, the Nova-class USS Solstice launches from drydock at Earth with skeleton crew on a shakedown cruise, under orders from Admiral Pascal to pick up additional personnel at Deep Space 5, then proceed to the Typhon Expanse in search of the Raleigh. (Star Trek Adventures: The Lost Frontier: Episode 1)
- En route to DS5, the Solstice responds to a distress call from the FMS Matador, and finds most of the ship's crew missing, with the three personnel who remained behind deceased through asphyxiation. The Solstice computer, and Lt. T'Rue's ocular implant are infected by a Neuronet Algorithm Reconnaissance AI program. The crew makes contact with the artificial lifeform, which had accidentally shut off the Matador's life support systems while acting in self-defense. NARA submits to Federation justice and is placed in a segregated holodeck system until they can be transferred safely to Deep Space 5 for trial, with the Solstice crew promising to advocate on their behalf. - 22 November (stardate 58892.4): The Solstice arrives at Deep Space 5. While awaiting additional personnel, the crew present are granted shore leave. Lt. - 15 December (stardate 58954.45): The USS Ross is launched from San Francisco Fleet Yards, Earth and departs on a shakedown cruise to the Shackleton Expanse. The journey from Earth to Narendra Station will take nearly three months at warp 7. (Clear Skies: "The Stage is Set")
