- 2045: A Vulcan survey ship crashes in the Pacific Ocean on Earth; only two crew members survive. The incident is kept hidden from the general public until the late 23rd century. (TOS novel: Strangers from the Sky)
- 2053: A culmination of a series of conflicts including the Second American Civil War and the Eugenics Wars, World War III culminates in a nuclear exchange. (Star Trek: First Contact; SNW: "Strange New Worlds")
- 2058: Earth's L5 colonies, including Vanguard, are lost in an early warp experiment. (TLE novel: The Sundered)
- 2063: Zefram Cochrane's first warp flight and subsequent first contact between humans and Vulcans. (Star Trek: First Contact)
- 2065: The SS Valiant is lost after encountering the galactic barrier. (TOS: "Where No Man Has Gone Before")
- 2070: The SS Derleth is launched from Earth on an exploratory mission. The ship is lost six months later. (Star Trek: The Continuing Mission: "Cathedral in the Void")
- 2078: The Optimum Movement collapses, as do the governments supported by it. (ST novel: Federation)
